The natural way to stay healthy – Interview with Dr. Pankaj Vij

At the 2016 AMMG (Age Management Medicine Group) conference, I was startled to hear many of my own thoughts from the mouth of one Dr. Pankaj Vij. Of course, I am not saying my thoughts belong to me but, of course, to the totality of human experience. Still, the specificity of metaphors, examples, and advice brought chills to me and let me know that I am on the right path (or that he read an advanced copy of my book, The Telomere Miracle…just kidding, Pankaj!)

I like to trust my intuition and everything that this man says resonates with me. If you don’t believe that our minds work alike, read this excerpt from by book, Telomere Timebombs

I like to ask questions. Always did, always will. I taught my sons that if you ask the question “why?” five times in a row, you will invariably run into these dreaded roadblocks to wisdom: “Idon’t know,” “That’s a silly question,” or the dreaded “It just is.” Go ahead and try it on the smartest person you know.

Dr. Vij was gracious enough to grant me an interview after his wonderful lecture and I think you will enjoy this 7-minute interchange. Listen for his euphemism for connubial felicity.

Here are some exemplary quotes from this exemplary physician:

We already have this beautiful pharmacy inside; we don’t need pills and frankly it’s not going to be the authentic version of the effect that you’re looking for unless you get it from within.

[Being grateful] to you has a more a powerful benefit for me- it’s boosting my happy chemicals of serotonin and dopamine.

The more I am aware, the more I can have that insight to modulate myself. At the end of the day, you can’t change anybody else.

You’re body is going to heal itself it wants to heal itself – all you have to do is get out of the way.
