In my search for wisdom about aging, I maintain that the primary cause is telomere shortening. This does not mean that methylation, signaling with stem cell produced vesicles (like packages with a purpose) don’t play a secondary role.
When we discuss the risk of telomere length to cancer risk, there are many studies but the conclusions we reach are limited by our simplistic assumptions.
Instead of being thrown off the the trail by the differences, we should find the commonalities. Both models of aging- oxidative damage and telomere shortening cause chromosome disruption and bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell damage and depletion.

Today, it was announced that the MD Anderson Cancer Center decided it had wasted $62M on askng IBM’s Watson computer to cure cancer. It is not surprising, really…a machine cannot ask questions yet, it can only answer them.
