Lack of integration is the root of all evil – one love, one heart

When I spoke with a friend Jerome today, we talked about a “conspiracy” to shut down holistic medicine and I replied that it is merely an emergent property of systems with well-intentioned folks.  This led to an epiphany about the difference between the cells and humans in terms of altruistic suicide.

In the human system, cells are programmed with a PRIME DIRECTIVE, if you will, to kill themselves when they are at fault. There are internal systems for this and they can be triggered by telomere erosion. This is good for the body as a whole in most instances.

Unfortunately, there are few people and even fewer organizations that have historically chosen to limit their own size or power or vote themselves out of existence.  It is antithetical to the nature of any selfish human, club, bureaucracy, corporation, nation, faith, or species to voluntary limit their own power or viability.

In the future, greater integration of consciousness and truth will allow for decisions that are not motivated by pure bureaucratic self-preservation.  In the future, the Department of (take your pick) will voluntarily conduct reductions in force and scope if they are not efficient and are fulfilling their missions. If you ask the passive-aggressive nincompoop Siri the meaning of life, it responds “to live forever”. The same psychopathic tendency exists in all human organizations.

Sadly, for the time being, we suffer because as my friend and proof reader Jerome said, “hierarchical organizations aren’t good at telling the truth in either direction [up or down].”

For example, is there a single crusader for (name your cause) that would solve the problem they are working on if it meant they needed to retrain and find a new job? I’m not talking about monetizing desalination or clean energy.  I’m talking about a real cure for cancer or aging?  Do oil companies buy up alternative energy patents to make money on them or keep them from competing?

I would gladly divulge the secret to eternal youth if it meant nobody had to age.  I have other skills like writing, delivering babies, and maybe a future in stand-up comedy.

In the immortal words of the prophet Bob Marley:

There is one question I’d really love to ask (One Heart!)
Is there a place for the hopeless sinner
Who has hurt all mankind just to save his own beliefs?

So I propose that the way forward is not the Balkanization of our agendas and communities but rather their enlightened integration.

To read a recent post I did about heart-centered living, read this blog.

Philosopher Bertrand Russel said it best when asked by the BBC interviewer “Suppose, Lord Russel, this film were to be looked at by our descendants, like a Dead Sea Scroll, in a thousand years time, what would you think it would be worth telling that generation, about the life you’ve lived and the lessons you’ve learned?”  [This is well worth your time…]
