In this 42-minute interview, U.S. Transhumanist Party Presidential Candidate, Zoltan Istvan, takes time out from his commitments to Showtime TV, Le Monde, and Der Spiegel, to chat with me about our common futurist views and his presidential run.

Zoltan Istvan is an author, sailor, family man, National Geographic Journalist, inventor of volcano surfing, and a candidate for the Presidency of the United States. He explains why he believes Transhumanism is our best chance for a better world via science and technology. He also explains why he may just throw his hat into the Democratic Party ring for some TV time.

Zoltan argues that we can all benefit from a little socialism, perhaps guided by a benevolent philosopher-king cyborg that we vote into office. Wait, what?

To his followers’ possible surprise, he comes ‘out of the closet’ as an agnostic and has some cautionary words for the Singularity-worshipers. Finally, Zoltan wonders out loud if we aren’t all living in the holographic universe created by some suicidal artificial intelligence.
